This is a good tip but the rpmnew/rpmsave feature really refers to updating an existing package.To install or upgrade an rpm file or package you need to use rpm command.The RPM formerly known as file, that includes compiled software programs and libraries needed by the packages.This utility only works with packages that built on format.
I have several applications that I wish to deploy using rpm.
Some of the files in my application deployments override files from other deployed packages.
Simply including the new files in the deployment package will cause rpm conflicts.
Please remember you must be root user when installing packages in Linux, with the root privileges you can manage rpm commands with their appropriate options.
Always check the PGP signature of packages before installing them on your Linux systems and make sure its integrity and origin is OK.
