This website will show you your current public IP address.
If the IP address does not match the one listed by your hostname, you will need to manually update it to get your service working again.
It has nothing to do with your account standing at dyndns.
And for the record, Dyn DNS dropped the free accounts entirely in the last two weeks or so.
If you’re like many Dyn DNS customers, you have a dynamic IP address which changes periodically (monthly, weekly or even daily).
This can make it difficult or impossible to connect to services at home, like remote desktop or FTP.
Years ago someone at Dyn DNS (the guy that started/was running it in fact) told me never use the update software built in to routers (at that time). For the record, the Actiontec Dyn DNS code apparently doesn't work at all anymore. I don't see Verizon making much effort to actually fix this functionality.Hi, Just need someone to please spot check their Actiontec's Dyn DNS.I monitor 2 actiontec devices (different locations..different DYN host names - One is a Rev. I)I have the paid version of DYNDNS - not even sure if they have the free anymore Tonight I noticed that the DYNDNS is not updating in the Actiontec..You can either use the update client in your router or download a software client to run on your computer. We highly recommend using software clients since they tend to be more reliable than many of the update clients used in routers. I do not want any pc on the network to run an updater, which is what everyone keeps telling me to do.
